One of the questions I'm asked more than almost any other is: "Kat, where's your favourite place in Europe?" And I never know how to answer it. Not because I don't have favourites — I have LOTS of them. But the people asking are often looking for different things. Some are looking for somewhere safe and easy to enjoy their first trip to Europe. Others want to relax by a beach with the dog. Some want to know how to circumnavigate Scandinavia! (Or Iceland!!) And somewhere I absolutely adore might be completely wrong for you if you hate mountain roads, mountains and long walks. Which is exactly what makes planning a European road trip so hard. The problem isn't a lack of options. It's too many. You open a few tabs. Someone in a Facebook group swears the Dolomites are unmissable. Someone else says don't bother, go to Slovenia instead. Two hours later you've got 40 tabs open, a list of 60 places, and you're no closer to deciding anything. (I know. I've done this myself. More than once.) I've put together a workshop to solve exactly this problem: Exploring Epic Places in Europe. I'll take you through 10 of my absolute favourite places from 90,000+ miles of touring Europe — what makes each one special, and, more importantly, how to work out which ones are right for YOUR kind of trip. Here's what we'll cover: • 10 of my favourite places in Europe — and why they've made the list • The best spots for mountains, coastlines, beautiful towns and unforgettable drives • Which areas I'd choose for a FIRST European trip (and which I'd save until later) • The best time to visit each one — and when I'd avoid it • Where to base yourself, and what's worth knowing before you arrive • Which places work particularly well for motorhomes and campervans • A few mistakes I've made, so you don't have to As always on my workshops, spaces are limited, so grab one here if you'd like to join us.
(WMC members, you already get access- no need to register again!) One honest caveat: I've included places for complete beginners as well as a few more challenging ones, so there should be something for everyone. Still, if you've already toured Europe numerous times, you'll probably have been to some of these. Want the itineraries to go with them? There's an option at checkout to add 14 in-depth European road trip itineraries for just £24. They're not sold separately, so the checkout is the only place you'll find them. I hope you can join me!

Be honest- do you know what to do if you have an accident while driving in Europe? Whether you’re in your motorhome, campervan or car, there’s one document you should carry: the European Accident Statement (or Accident Form). This form is incredibly clever, because it helps resolve the language issues in Europe. If someone from France runs into someone from Germany in Spain, the form format is exactly the same. Each person then completes the form in their own language, and it all fits...
Well, August has been a bit of a month! It started with a quick weekend to Spain to visit family and relax by the pool… and ended up with a solar eclipse and standing on the second largest ice sheet in the world! 😆 A little August recap I headed out to Iceland hoping to see the total solar eclipse — and, as you may know, the Icelandic weather did its absolute best to ruin those plans! I didn’t get the perfect view of the sun disappearing that I’d hoped for, but watching the entire world...
If you're taking your motorhome or campervan to Europe, there are three things which seem to cause a ridiculous amount of confusion: Tolls. Vignettes. And low-emission stickers. People mix them up all the time, and to be fair, Europe really doesn't make this easy because different countries have different systems — and sometimes they even use the same WORD for completely different things. So in this week's video, I'm going to explain the difference between them, which countries you're likely...
