πŸ’› Heading to the NEC this week?

If you're new to visiting motorhome/caravan shows, the October NEC show can feel incredibly overwhelming.

It's HUGE!

If you've only ever been to the February one, the October show is even larger.

If you are visiting the NEC show this week, here are some quick tips:

  • Get there as early as you can. It starts to get really busy around 11.30am until about 4pm.
  • Wear comfortable shoes & do not underestimate how far you're going to walk. Some women do the show in heels... I am not one of them!
  • Bring a bag. You will get leaflets, brochures, stickers (from me!) and probably buy something. Having a bag/ rucksack to carry it all in helps.
  • The accessories are (mostly!) around the outside edges of the halls, so stick to the walls if you're looking for gadgets.
  • Take lots of breaks and remember to keep hydrated. Pace yourself
  • Try and have a plan. You will NOT be able to see everything in one day. It's too big. Figure out the top 3 MOST important things and do them first. Everything else is a bonus.

Is it worth buying at a motorhome show?

Absolutely! If you want to buy a BRAND NEW vehicle, then motorhome shows are great places to land a good deal.

This doesn't just have to be big shows like the NEC; there are many regional shows around the UK throughout the year, some even selling used or ex-hire vehicles as well as new stock. Having said that, the NEC show is the largest- and a great time to compare models.

If you are looking to buy a new (or used) motorhome/ campervan, make sure you download this FREE buying checklist and decision matrix.

Check off each point as you look around the vans, both inside and out, to help you make the best choice for you.

If you are planning on visiting the NEC, whether to buy a van, accessories or just to 'look' *cough cough*, I hope you have a wonderful time.

I'll be on stage (Inspiration Theatre) every day, sharing some of my favourite places in Europe to explore. Here's my schedule if you'd like to watch the talk and please do come and say hi afterwards:

The biggest issue with travelling solo is there is NO ONE to blame but yourself when you do something stupid. It's very inconvenient! Sadly, no matter how experienced a motorhomer you might be, you still occassionally do something downright silly. Generally when an entire campsite of people are staring at you in disbelief. 🫣 A while ago, I arrived at a campsite and (for reasons which aren't clear to anyone, including me) I decided to drive my motorhome onto a grass field... just after a heavy...

Well, it's been a bit of a month on the motorhome front! If you've been following my adventures recently, you'll know that my motorhome decided to throw a rather spectacular spanner in the works a few weeks ago. And, of course, it chose just about the WORST possible moment to do it. πŸ™„ I was on my way to meet a group of Wandering Motorhome Club members, to start our trip into Europe. I'd used it a few days before and it passed it's MOT the week earlier. And then, on the day the trip started,...

An asphalt road stretching into a misty landscape under a pale morning sky

It’s that time of year again β€” misty mornings, crunchy leaves and that unmistakable smell of β€œsomeone nearby’s lit their fire πŸ”₯” Autumn is my favourite season for motorhome trips. Quieter roads, stunning scenery (especially when the leaves have all changed)… and the perfect excuse to get warm & cosy when it's raining outside. I don't tend to change much of my gear in my motorhome between Spring/ Summer and Autumn, but there are definitely a few things which get much more use at this time of...
