At the moment, you can barely turn on the news without hearing about another wildfire somewhere in Europe. Hopefully none of us will ever be anywhere near one, but it is a timely reminder that fires can start frighteningly quickly. And whilst you should always leave firefighting to the professionals, it's worth making sure you're prepared for the smaller incidents that can happen around a house or motorhome. Be honest- would you know what to do if you discovered a fire in your motorhome, campervan, caravan or RV? Or even in your kitchen at home?
Sadly, just buying a fire extinguisher and hoping to never need it is not a good plan. Several years ago, our motorhome caught fire. Thankfully, it started on a fuse and we were able to find it and stop it easily... but what if we hadn't? What if it had spread quickly, or we'd been out at the time? It also turns out that the fire extinguisher which has been in your van for years might already be clogged (they're not designed to be bumped around) and therefore may not work if you need it. This week's video is all about that. It's not a new video; I filmed it a couple of years ago, but it's still incredibly relevant so I hope you find it useful. Yes, it's like 10% a product review (because it's a really really good product - I now have two), but 90% is essential tips for EVERYONE, whether you have this fire extinguisher or not!
If you'd like to get 10% off your own fire stick, use the code KAT at this link (limited time only). But, even if you never buy a Fire Safety Stick, I really hope this video helped you think about your own fire precautions and safety in your van. Stay safe out there!

Hands up if your travel photos basically consist of: your motorhome, your dinner, and the same mountain from 14 slightly different angles? (No shame here - I do the same, plus many many photos of my dog!) Iβve always loved capturing our adventures, but it wasnβt until I started travelling solo that I realised how much you can improve your photos β whether youβre using a drone, a phone or a βproperβ camera. So today I wanted to share a few easy ways to get better road trip photosβ¦ without...
One of the most common questions I get about France is "where are your favourite places"? And it's TOUGH. There are so many incredible places around France to enjoy. Before we start, I just wanted to acknowledge the awful wildfires happening in parts of France and elsewhere in southern Europe. My thoughts are with everyone affected, especially the local communities and emergency services working so hard. The places I'm sharing below aren't intended as "go there now" recommendations -...
We've all been there. You've packed up your camper, shoved things into cupboards or piled it all on the bed in a last-minute rush... Only to set off and be serenaded by a symphony of noises. Bangs Clunks Clink clink clinks The drawer has slid open. The fridge has emptied it's contents Oh- and you forgot to take the shelf out of the oven. Again All in all, you can barely hear yourself think, (and the poor dog is looking at you like you've done it on purpose to upset him!) Over the years, I...
